Lip Filler Injections Dr Brian Pinksy New York

Lip filler, or lip augmentation, can help people gain fuller lips with more defined contours, giving a more sensual appearance. Dr. Pinsky can provide numerous treatment options for lip fillers, all made with acids and substances similar to those found in the body, giving longer-lasting results. The volume and appearance of your lips can be realistically achieved to your desire. They can improve confidence, self-esteem, and overall health through medically standard practices and aesthetically pleasing procedures.

What Are Lip Fillers?

Lip fillers are injectable dermal fillers placed in the lips and around the mouth to give the appearance of fuller, plumper lips. These fillers contain hyaluronic acid, a substance found in the skin, connective tissues, and eyes to retain water and moisture. This acid is often used to treat osteoarthritis and can treat burns, wounds, skin ulcers, and bedsores when applied topically. However, in these cases, hyaluronic acid acts as a natural volumizer to enhance the lips’ appearance. Lip enhancements can benefit people in numerous ways, including:

  • Reduce wrinkles
  • Treat signs of aging
  • Improve appearance
  • Correct thin lips
  • Encourage self-confidence

Lip fillers are not a permanent fix for thin lips; lip fillers last at least six months or more and become absorbed overtime. Other procedures such as lip implants and fat transfer can provide longer-lasting results and increase risks of pain, scarring, infection, and swelling. For more information about other lip augmentation procedures, contact Dr. Pinsky at any of his locations in Long Island, Babylon, Huntington, Suffolk County, and Nassau County, NY.

Step-By-Step Procedure For Lip Fillers

Dr. Pinsky will discuss with you the various options for hyaluronic acid lip fillers available from brands such as Juvaderm and Restylane for your lip augmentation during your initial consultation. The procedure will last approximately 30 minutes, will require no downtime, and no after treatment. During the procedure, the following will occur:

  1. Dr. Pinsky will first assess your facial features for the appropriate injection points and will mark the injection sites for the filler.
  2. The injection sites will be disinfected using an antibacterial agent, and if needed, use a local anesthetic ointment to numb the skin.
  3. Dr. Pinsky will inject the filler into the injection sites with a few minutes per area, and the whole process can take in between 15 to 30 minutes to complete.
  4. Once the results appear satisfactory, the markings will be cleared off, and Dr. Pinsky will provide ice packs if needed.

Lip Filler Recovery And Risks

There is no downtime for lip fillers for recovery, and patients can go through their normal routines as usual. Some swelling and discomfort may occur at the injection sites, and the areas may feel tender to touch for the first two days. It is recommended that you don’t do intense activity during the first 24-48 hours to minimize the swelling and bruising. Risks associated with lip fillers can be discussed with Dr. Pinsky during your initial consultation.

As an effective and minimally invasive way to bring volume and youth to your lips, Dr. Pinsky can provide you with an aesthetically pleasing procedure that will help boost your confidence and reduce signs of aging. Call at (631) 870-7208 for more information.
